Prepping the bike for a track day while trying to run down a problem and found this when I drained the oil.
It wasn’t like when it quit working a few weeks ago. Prior to the first ride I checked the coolant, oil, chain. All good. Something must have happened on the ride.
Some gasket let go. Off to eBay to search replacement engines/trans combos. How much does a rebuild cost any way?
Who wants a chocolate milk shake?

Rebuild quote is 2,000-2,500 depending on parts.

I suppose there’s little chance it’s like the ninja I used to own where the waterpump is driven from a gear inside the block. That old ninja didn’t need a head gasket just a pump with good bearings and seals still.

I suppose but that is possible but the oil has circulated through everything. It’s all over the clutch, gears, crank ... Even if I could just tried that, I think the bearings would still be contaminated. Id hate to have it seize up in a couple years.
